Big Girl Tub

So we've finally caved and put the little girl in the big bath tub. We tried a couple times before with one of us in there with her, but she always managed to whack her head on the side. It's time though. She has REALLY outgrown that little baby bath. Like, 2 months ago outgrown. She loved the big tub tonight and drummed on the side until she was good and pruned. Can't believe how grown up she's getting.

Great View.

Someday, when I open my bakery and make millions, (14 to be exact), this will be the view from my kitchen sink.

But, for now, this is the view from my kitchen sink. And I don't think there's a price tag large enough for me to give it up!

7 Months

So I meant to take a cute picture of my big 7 month old. But I am still lacking in photo abilities. It's quite fitting the only picture I have today is in her birthday suit.

Yes, she celebrated another month older at the doctor. She did really well. Check out the number on that scale! 18lbs 9oz. Wowsers. I thought it was going to be a rough visit because she's so aware of everything these days, and she screamed pretty good for her shots, but she does love when I sing to her and it almost always calms her down quick. Thanks goodness for primary songs!
This past month has been lots of exhausting fun. She babbles "ma ma" and "ba ba" now and gut laughs when you make funny faces or silly sounds. She loves to eat real food...as real as that mushy baby food can be. She can shred a piece of paper in a nano second with her 2 razor sharp teeth. (don't worry, it comes out the other end) She's constantly moving and the doc said very close to crawling. Her favorite thing to do is stand on the floor and bang on the couch cushion, or anything at that prime level. My favorite thing is the excited pant she does when she sees something she wants. Oh, and don't get caught in a staring contest...she'll win every time with that dead pan face! I'm finally starting to feel like I'm getting the hang of this always having a sidekick thing. Plus, she's a really cute sidekick to have!

She's READY!! (With her model pose...hilarious!) She's turning into quite the diva.







I also saw Avery's first jealous streak tonight. Our neighbors across the street had twins 10 weeks ago and while holding one of their darling little boys, Avery shot me the look of death. It was pretty funny. It's exciting to see her little personality develop. Although, I'm a little nervous about it too.

The funniest thing about that mirror toy is that Avery would rather eat the ties than play with any of the bright colored toys attached to it. It makes me laugh. Anyway, I hope she rolls around for a long time. I'm not ready to baby proof or keep up with a crawler!

Hanging Around.

Actually, more like rolling around. This girl can get anywhere she wants these days with a little scoot and a roll. It's pretty fun to spread some toys out and watch her do her thing. Maybe tomorrow I'll time lapse some pictures for you so you can see how she moves. Anyway, I used to move toys out of her way so she could roll in a clear path and wouldn't bonk her head, but after cleaning up some things today, I came back into the living room to this.....

she doesn't seem bothered one bit by the big mirror under her tush. In fact, I think she's more comfortable that way! For a second, I thought she had fallen asleep, but nope!

*side note* Are those boy shorts? They look so cute on, but now in these pictures they look like boy shorts. Do they make boy clothes in 'capri' length. Oh well, who cares.

Whoosh--I'm tired.

Avery's not, but I sure am. Really tired. I never knew how much an hour nap time was rejuvenating to me, until she decided to nap for just 30 minutes at a time today. Sheesh! I barely got the kitchen cleaned. She's finally getting over her sick bug, but here's the short nap culprit.

It's Over....

I think I've officially turned into an adult. The last few conferences I've actually been sad that they are done. Today was no different. Even with a little one rolling all over the floor during half of it I still managed to be boosted by it. Avery enjoyed it too!

After conference, we went to my parents for some fun. My uncle and his family were in town so we spent some time making some great memories. Here's Avery and her new Mommy. Actually, my cousin...and technically Avery's cousin once removed. (my young women taught me all about family relationship titles...and google refreshed my memory.) Little Maryn was super cute with Avery. It was nice to have a break.

Another item worth noting are the lizards that invade my parent's yard. They are pretty fun to watch do their little push-ups on the side of the house or sun themselves on a rock. Cooler than watching them though, is CATCHING them! Yeah, my Uncle, the lizard wrangler, made a lasso out of a blade of grass and caught himself a critter! Ryan's got himself some competition now!

He looks dead, but check out that sweet grass belt. haha...I didn't know if you turned a lizard on his back he would play dead.

My favorite part of the night though, was watching my cousin and nephew become best friends. They were INSEPARABLE all night. So cute.

Girls' Night

So we had our traditional Girls' Night tonight while the boy went to the Priesthood session of our Church's General Conference.
We tried out a new place this year...(that's part of the tradition)..Chicago Fire. It's pretty good. It would have been GREAT if we didn't have to wait a whole hour for our pizza. We had such a good time that we didn't realize it had taken so long. But now that I think about it, I'm MAD! We should have made a stink about it, but we were too busy enjoying each others' company. And Avery was being a trooper.

I'm hoping it's just because I'm posing next to a little baby that I look so gargantuan. Ahh, well, I guess it's time to get serious about getting back in shape. I'm just seriously lacking any motivation. And THIS website doesn't help much.

April Already?

I can't believe it's April already? Is that crazy? We spent some time with some of our favorite people today. More COUSINS!!

These two are just nine months apart. They were checking each other out today. Hopefully they'll be best friends in the future!


This little man is already her best friend...but you wouldn't know from this picture. He's in LOVE with Angry Birds. If you don't know what that game is...don't look it up. It's frightfully addicting.
