Is it Possible?

Is it possible this girl keeps getting cuter and cuter. Today while I folded laundry, for what felt like ALLLL day, Avery cozied up on a blanket in my room and decided to read a good book.

Ahhh, the days when I could curl up and read a good book.

See, cuter and cuter.

I get it now.

I get why Avery's so in love with her Grandpa. I peeked in on their little play time in the other room and saw THIS!

There's a million other reasons why she loves hanging out with him, but it's no wonder she wants to be nose to nose with my computer every time I hop on.

**ps...I just got back from a craft night with a bunch of girlies. Can't wait to show you my cute new Halloween crafty!

Hop On Pop

It's one of her favorite books. And it also happens to be one of her new favorite things to do.

**Maybe a coincidence...but after she was done using Brian as a jungle gym, she brought me Hop On Pop to read. Crazy.

What a Find.

Okay, so nothing can top my $1 Duplos from this weekend's garage sales. That is the deal all others will be compared to for eternity. But today I found something pretty cool. I have on my thrift store list a kid camping chair for Avery so we went on the hunt. I didn't find one, but my Tee Pee is camping related, right? Avery thought it was so fun! Me too. (although, my pink salt water sandals and baby Keens were probably my favorite find of the day.)

Fall is in the Air...

We started off the morning with a bike ride and then breakfast. Banana muffins to tide her over while I scrambled her egg. You think she likes them?

So this is obviously not her best angle...but do you see the size of that bite she shoveled into her mouth?

Then, because we have Brian home for TWO DAYS, we went up to Apple Hill. AAah, it felt like fall. Fresh apple cider, apple donuts, and well, a crisp macintosh apple spell F.A.L.L. to me. Along with the most perfect breeze, it was heaven. I was skeptical about the donuts, but when I saw the line out the door, I figured we'd have to try them...they didn't disappoint.
Avery was in heaven too. There were lots of dogs that she was sure to point out to us...oh, and lots of other babies. Apparently in her little mind a three-year-old still classifies as a baby. She told us so herself.

She found some other stuff too.

Flowers...

Pumpkins...and hay! Which she kept saying "Hi" to, but I think it's cause I tell her "Hey" a lot instead of "Hello." I should use less slang around her.

To tell you the truth, Avery have the most fun just walking around. We had to hold her hand or she would just wander to the tractors, the horses, or complete strangers with big ol' dogs. It was pretty funny to watch. She's becoming so independent it's exciting...and a little scary.

Sicky.

I've got a ridiculous sick bug that I can't distinguish between allergies or virus. It makes me want a flu shot. Anyway, in lieu of my virus/allergies, my mom and I skipped our normal Saturday 25 mile bike ride for some garage sale fun instead!

You'll never guess what I found! (Well, what my mom found and then I stole from her.) TRAIN DUPLOS...for ONE DOLLAR!! I couldn't believe it! After a bath in some bleachy water, I dried them all off for Avery to play with after her nap today. I'm afraid I had more fun building it than she had tearing it down.

Pretty cool, right? The best part is I looked on Amazon and this set sells for 100 bucks! I was pretty stoked. I might be stalking ebay for some more train to add to my track!

I scored a couple other things...like snow bibs and a snow jacket perfect for my girl this winter. And yes, 1 dollar a piece!

She wasn't so sure about the whole get-up. But once we strap her on a sled, she'll be begging for more!

Daddy, Daughter.

I was curious what Brian would do with Avery while I went to the Relief Society Broadcast. I told him to take some pictures. Looks like he spent the evening at Nanny and Grandpa's. We are so lucky to have both sets of Grandparents, and some Greats in the area for our little one to have in her life. Glad Avery had some fun with Nanny and all her cool toys. She really does have the best ones.

Bath Fun Take 2

Since the bubbles didn't go over so well in the tub, I saw this cool idea on Pinterest to put a little food coloring in the ice cube tray and make colored ice cubes for the tub. Well, I decided to try it out with plain ice cubes before I went to all the trouble of making fun ones. They were a HIT! In fact, I had to refill the cup two times she was having so much fun chasing after them, catching them, and then of course tasting them. mmmm, delicious.

Good spot to relax

I gave Avery a couple pretzels after lunch and sent her on her way while I finished cleaning up her mess of a high chair. She was being so quiet I had to see what she was up to.

Oh, nothing. Just relaxing on the stairs with Mr. Cow.

I don't use the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs anymore so Missy loves to play on the first couple up to the landing. She's getting really good at going down them backwards. Plus, she usually only goes up five steps before squawking at me to come play with her, and I figure she'll survive five steps without any broken bones.

Drive Baby, Drive!

While we were cooling down from our bike ride this morning, Avery ventured around my parent's yard and found the toy stash.

She hopped in the car and went for a nice ride. She looks so little in that thing.

Bubbles!

Avery's been super cranky lately. I know she doesn't feel good. I attributed it to her shots on Friday, but mid-tantrum, with her mouth gaping open, I saw the cause today. Two more teeth just broke through so hopefully those tears will go away for a little while.
We celebrated with bubbles in the bath tonight. She's only had a bubble bath one other time, so she kept shouting "Bubble! Bubble!" while I was getting her ready. She was super excited about it and loved splashing them around.

....Until she decided to taste it. It was all over after that. Apparently, bubbles aren't so delicious.

Big Girl

I've had a new car seat for Avery for a few months now, but her infant seat was so convenient to switch between cars, I used it as long as I could. I pulled out her new seat today and she loved hopping in and out. Hope she loves it as much once it's strapped in the car.

Also, this bracelet thing just went to a whole new level today. She put these straps on like it was a bracelet, and the next thing you know, she's toting around a purse! I'm in trouble. I REALLY don't want to be the lady with the two year old in Target carrying an armful of accessories.

Surprise!

My sister's birthday was today, so a few of us decided to surprise her and show up at her church meeting this morning. I think we got her! It was pretty fun.

We spent the afternoon visiting and playing around and eating. Thanks for letting us crash your birthday Jessica! Hope you had a happy one!

Avery was in heaven with all the magnets on the fridge. Me too, cause I was pretty tired and it was nice she was entertained.

I just realized I don't have any pictures of the birthday girl. (aforementioned TIRED) But, we did manage to check out Ryan's newest toy. I was skeptical when he said motorcycle, but I'm now adding one to my birthday list! It's so fun!

After riding my bike, I especially appreciated a throttle. I could get used to that! Even if I was going so slow a five year old beat me on his pedal powered bike. In my defense, he's pretty quick.

Brian also gave it a go and decided he wanted it for his commute to his NEW JOB!!!

Yes, A NEW JOB! We are so excited. We've had a VERY unhappy year of long commutes, catty women in the office, and interested management. So, we're feeling very blessed in this economy to have a such a refreshing change and a short enough commute he can ride his bike!

B-Y-Who?

Avery parked her bus and watched a little college football tonight with Brian before she went to bed. Now I'm going to bed. It's been an interesting day...baby throw up is not very fun to clean up, especially when real food is involved. Poor girl had three baths today. I think it might be a reaction to her shots. I might have prefered the ACTUAL chicken pox to this vaccine.

Doctor Day

Avery had her one year check up at the doctor today. I still can't believe she's a year old! Well, she did really well. Performed like a championship show dog. Talked, walked, waved, laughed...Good girl! haha...she is turning into quite the cute little girl actually. 30 inches tall and 20 lbs 10 oz. Another half a pound and she'll finally double her birth weight.

Except for the blasted shots, today was great. As soon as they stuck her little thigh, she just screamed..and the second one was even worse. When I picked her up she ripped a band-aid off and screamed some more. Such fun. She was okay once I got her calmed down, but woke up kinda cranky from her nap. I caved and let her watch TV. That's a rare occurrence around here. I try really hard to keep it off when she's up, and now I know why. Nose to nose with the tv can't be healthy. Glad the show only lasted 10 minutes.

Blisters

My three blisters from our walk to the yogurt shop were totally worth the extra scoop of Reese's chunks I treated myself to. And Avery LOVES Mochi!

Repair Man

Our dishwasher left me a little present the other day. A huge puddle right in front. How thoughtful. So, I called the best repair man I know. Avery thought he looked familiar.

Sure enough, it was GRANDPA! Thanks Dad for figuring out the problem.

You got yourself a cute lackey this time. Need a flashlight?

Let me dig in here for that wrench you need...

Here you go!
