Good Morning!

How's this for a good morning?

I finally went to the dentist after a loooong time and lucky me got a root canal. It hurts. Almost as bad as it did pre-root canal.


Avery had a play date this afternoon--don't ask me how I made it through. But she had a good time showing her buddy the stairs. At first she wasn't happy having to share her personal amusement park, but she got over it when she realized she could show off.

Books

Avery loves books. From the time she could roll over she was rolling to one side, opening the book, rolling to the other side, and closing the book. I wish I had that on video. Anyway, I keep the books in the entertainment center so she doesn't destroy them, but missy figured out how to open it a few days ago. And now apparently she can read 10 books at once.


She's so proud of herself!

Ignore all those fingerprints on the glass. I'm told I'll miss them when they're gone, so I'm 'enjoying' their fuzzy blur.

He HAD to feed her an ice cream sandwich. Wish he was here to clean the effects it left in the tub tonight. I think we'll have to skip the ice cream for awhile. She sure loved it while it lasted.


She also LOVES to dance. This is a pretty mellow dance but I had to capture it while I was thinking about it. You should have seen her rockin' to "We Thank Thee, O God, For A Prophet" at Stake Conference today. Hilarious.

ps...she had a death grip on that ipod for half an hour. I had to wait till she fell asleep to even pry it out of those cute little hands of hers. How come babies are such magnets for technology?

hahah...Brian's face cracks me up. He didn't realize she could stand on her own. It's her latest trick.

Don't tell anyone, but those bare toes needed some polish, so I painted them!! :)

For the First Time

Avery had chocolate AND ice cream for the first time today. As soon as I let her lick that chocolate egg, I immediately regretted it. Then I REALLY regretted it when she burst into tears when it was all gone. Oh well.


Brian's at another Giants game tonight so I was flying solo at bedtime. I think she's enjoying herself, don't you?




ps...She pooped for the first time in the bath tonight. Then the floor. Then her towel. Seriously, the cherry on top of my ice cream sundae of misery today. Happy she's asleep in her bed now and I will be shortly. G'night.

The Helping Continues

Avery is getting pretty good at getting anywhere she wants now which is great and keeps her pretty happy. I left the kitchen after I started some dishes, only to return to this!


She started unloading the thing quicker than I could get it loaded back up! And to think, ten years down the road, I'll have to bribe her to come near the dishwasher again.

Best Helper Ever.

We've lived in our house over 4 1/2 years now and still have some painted left to do. hah...among other things. Anyway, now that Avery is taking longer naps, I actually have some time to get stuff done around this place again. It feels good.
I've been painting the hallway during this week's nap times and finally can pull some blue tape off. Avery was the best blue tape collector I've ever known.

Pretty soon she was so tangled up in the stuff she could hardly move!



ps...I should have pulled my camera out when my sis-in-law stopped by. She brought Avery the CUTEST outfit. Thanks girl! Anyway, she was holding the little lady and Avery was mesmerized by Megan's luscious lashes. Yes, the most gorgeous eyelashes you'll ever meet. It was so funny. Avery would stare at her and then try and figure them out and grab at them. I think she must be jealous. I know I sure am.

Duplos

Brian got Duplos from his parents for Father's Day. I couldn't think of a more perfect gift. I'm excited the Lego loving tradition with continue through another generation. Avery LOVES them!

This is how Brian spends most Sundays. It's one of the BILLION reasons he's a great father...and husband for that matter.


Brian LOVED his gift. He's been asking for a picture with me and Avery for awhile now and a couple months ago, a friend, who also happens to be a fabulous photographer, was offering mommy & me sessions. The light bulb went off--Father's Day! Check them out:

Since that was a couple months ago, I figure you need another one of Avery today. Plus, I'm dying to know what you think she has on her cheek. What IS that thing? This morning it was just a red bump but after church it exploded into this giant cherry. So sad. With the help of Google Images, (gross by the way). We've decided it must be a bug bite. I think I'll take a picture in the morning if it's still there and send it on to the doc.

Outside

Avery loves being outside. Today, when it cooled off, I opened our slider and let her play around while I bird-proofed our berry bushes. It was so funny watching her try to get out.

Seriously though. There's a robin and a dove that I'm ready to shoot with my air soft collection. They've destroyed my boysenberries. I even saw one on the fence with a purple beak from the juice. BUT, I'll have the last laugh. My nearly dead blackberry bushes are COVERED with pink berries about to deepen their color with the hot sunshine. You better believe I'll be out there with my guns ready for those birds. Okay, I can't really see myself doing that, so I hung some bird netting.

Avery helped me pick/eat the last few ripe berries before we covered them up. Despite her crazy faces, she really love them.



I'm so excited to show you Brian's Father's Day present! I've had them a couple months now, so it's been killing me to not give them to him early.
