Our day in Pictures

After church, Avery apparently had a super-hero lunch: jelly sandwich. Which, she happened to love playing with more than eating.

She preferred the grapes. I mean, inhaled the grapes. It's too hard for her to get those slimy things in her hands, and then to her mouth, so she takes a short cut. I guess this girl doesn't approve of my hallway catch-all at the top of the stairs and felt like she was strong enough to move it. Not quite, but an A for effort for sure.
Oh, and the $4 thrift store gift just keeps on giving. Brian and I push Avery back and forth on her little bus. We're conditioning her for Thunder Mountain. haha. It cures any little tantrum. And yes, she has started throwing tantrums. What's that about?!? If only she knew how good she has it. Maybe that's the cause. Oh well.

Teeth

Avery's teething again. It's my favorite. Snot everywhere, serious cranky pants and tears. Lots of tears. She broke through her first top tooth while we were in Mammoth without a single sign of discomfort, but this other one in making up for it big time! Poor thing. You can tell she's just miserable. So we laid low, kept up on the drugs, and tried to stay entertained. We ended up on the front lawn blowing bubbles and eating snacks this afternoon. Just what the doctor ordered for all of us.

Swimming...again.

Three days in a row in the pool. I'm surprised she hasn't grown a flipper!

Buddies

So these two kiddos have been getting together since they were just a couple months old and they are finally starting to have some fun together. Today they went swimming, tormented a cat, ate some snacks and read some stories. Quite a day.

Fun in the Sun

We spent the afternoon at the pool with some cousins. AFTER we went to what felt like 12 pier one imports shopping for free with their $10 off $10. My Christmas shopping is done thank you very much. So, I'm pretty pooped. Here's a couple fun shots from the day.

Avery loved the beach entry of the pool. And I did too because she could roam free.

She practiced her walking as well. Lots and lots of walking. I just realized that might be why my back hurts tonight. Thanks Grandpa for taking a shift.

This cracks me up. Check out those tippee toes. She must take after her mama's obsession with cars. Love that girl.

The Ladies

My lady Avery met the Lady Liberty of Red Robin today. Why are their onion rings so delicious? Second only to their fries. Yummy.


In other news, she says quite a few words now. Mama, dada, grandpa, bubble, ball, book (those two sound the same...it just depends on what she has in her hand), she said turtle for like two days, and her new word this afternoon was GO! It was pretty cute. She's getting so big. She even took three little steps by herself tonight. I screamed in bewilderment (I'm totally bringing that word back) and scared her. Then when I tried to get it on video, she just sat down. I don't know if I'm ready for this.

New Game

Do you see what she's pushed under the coach? This is her new game. I tried to get a laughing picture, but missed it...I need a... I want a new camera. Anyway, she'd push them under, then crawl and roll around the other edge of the couch and peek under and giggle because she could see them.

So funny. I'm sure loving her more and more these days as she keeps me pretty entertained.

Thanks for having a birthday Gordy! We sure had fun scheming...oh, and eating ice cream cookie sandwiches. Yummy!

Don't laugh at our redneck dollar store decorations. It's still festive in my book.
Avery's new favorite toy. It's so ugly. I was sifting through the Goodwill store looking for some quiet Sunday toys and she was making so much noise in the cart. I pulled her out to stand up on this bus and the next thing I know she's walked halfway down the aisle! So, for $3.99 it gets to be an eyesore at my house. I'll have to take video of her riding it while chasing Brian. She laughs so hard she nearly falls off the thing. Definitely worth four bucks.
Love these kiddos.
And of course, a family get together would not be complete without Grandpa and his girls.

Out and About

Avery put on her shades to get ready for our day out and about. Of course, they came off as soon as we put her in the car and she actually could have benefited from them. Oh well. We ran some errands, shopped a little, and tried to find missy a new car seat. Anyone have a great suggestion for a convertible that will go rear and forward facing? She's outgrown her infant seat and it's all so confusing. I'd love a recommendation. I'm leaning toward a britax, but I'd be very happy if someone could talk me into a cheaper one. Thanks!

Pool Time

Avery had a friend over and we went to the pool today. They had lots of fun watching all the other kids jumping and splashing.
Spent some time lounging.
And then she figured out how to drink the water. Delicious.

Bye Uncle Daniel!

Uncle Daniel's moving away to Utah so we snapped a shot of all the Arnold's since we won't be together for a little while. Happy for his new opportunities, sad for all the laughs we'll miss. (just a disclaimer...none of us wanted to take a picture because we all felt so lousy, but it five years, we'll be glad we did.)


ps....Avery loves Costco samples. It's like they made those sporks just for her.

Finally!

Avery is not a fan of cleaning up after dinner time...or breakfast...or lunch...or snacks. You get the idea. So now that she wants to feed herself, it's gotten way messier than a quick wipe of the face. Well, I was super tired tonight after dinner and sat her on the counter to really clean those chubby fingers. Then, genius came to me. The result: SUPER clean hands and really wet pants.

How Dare You!

Just check out that outfit...how dare I, right? I was definitely on her black list this morning. I went to my mom's intending to ride bikes first thing, but we just couldn't get going. Avery got peaches all over her jammies and those are the only things I found in my bag when we finally hopped on our bikes. Leggings and a jacket. Now THAT'S an outfit! sheesh!


We went to Brian's softball game tonight. He plays in a summer league with a bunch of guys from the ward. Avery made a friend there.
Well, really she just wanted to make friends to steal her bracelets. They are so cute. I think Avery needs some.

Thanks Grandma Foote for the fun store at the reunion. Avery bought a punching bag that has been the source of her entertainment the last couple days....Hers and ours anyway. Those things are pretty therapeutic.

What Happened?

Wowsers.

I'm TIRED!

So tired, I actually slept until 11 today. I can't remember the last time I did that. It was completely by mistake. I nursed Avery when she woke up at 5:30 and asked Brian if he'd watch the lady so I could have another hour of sleep before I got ready for church, and my next recollection was a wake up call for Avery's snack time at 11.
I'm totally wiped out from a non-stop couple of weeks I couldn't even function today. You know that feeling like you're going to throw-up, body temperature is ten degrees too high, can't keep you're eyelids up even with the help of toothpicks kind of exhausted. Well, it hit today. I'm hoping it'll be gone with another good night's sleep.

So, needless to say, I didn't take any pictures. I was surprised to see there were a couple pictures the man had taken. Here's a cute one of my peeps. g'night.

4 Years Old!

So Avery's cousin had a birthday party today and we had such a fun time.

It was so nice outside this evening, we all played on the swing set. Avery wasn't so sure about it. Especially the slide. Isn't that the funniest face. She warmed up to the idea after awhile. Thanks for the fun guys!

Our Last Day

We were sad to leave Mammoth this morning, but definitely excited to sleep in our own beds tonight. Avery soaked up the last bit of family love before we headed out. She's gonna miss all her new friends.

Gonna Miss This View

I'm seriously gonna miss these snow-capped mountains and ice cold lakes when I go home.

Highlight

The highlight of the day: Rainbow Falls. Gorgeous as always. We loved having some of our cousins as hiking buddies. It was lots of fun.
