On The Road Again.

It felt so good to take my bike out onto the actual road again. I've been using my trainer inside every now and then, but I got Brian (ehem, myself) a bike trailer for Easter so Avery could tag along and I tested it out today with my parents.
She LOVED it! And I forgot how much I love actually GOING somewhere on my bike. Way better than staring out a window for half an hour. It doesn't feel like exercise when you're checking out all the beauties of spring.

Hey, stop laughing at my sweet helmet. Don't be jealous your head doesn't fit in a women's size one. pssh!

This girl fell asleep near the end of the ride in her sweet chariot.

ps...I don't want to jinx anything, but just for my own record, we let Avery cry it out tonight. I kept going back and forth about it, but it's time. She can pull herself up to her knees on the bumper and she army crawls into the corners. I just see it getting progressively harder and harder the longer we wait. We have a pretty solid bedtime schedule...bath, jammies, nurse, cuddles, singing, then I hop on the ball and bounce her to sleep. Well, tonight I sung, then took a deep breath and kissed her goodnight. She rolled over in her crib and giggled. I patted her belly, told her, "Sweet Dreams." and left the room. Three minutes into the screaming, Brian sang her a song and then left again--we waited 5 minutes the next time. Well, there WASN'T a next time! Holy cow! Our baby put herself to sleep! I went in at the 5 minute mark and she was sound asleep. I was prepared for a 2 hour scream fest.
I hope round two at 3 am is just as easy...(knock on wood). I'll keep you posted.
