Did ya miss me?

I promise I meant to blog every day but, when you're at DISNEYLAND, it's just not quite a priority.

Woooweee, I'm so tired. My Uncle took his family to Disneyland and I talked my Grandma into going down there to meet up with them. After all the plans were made, her health took a turn and I ended up going with my Sister-in-law and her kids. We are so glad she's going to be okay and thought about her every minute of our trip.

Looking back, I think we were a little crazy. A four year old, almost two year old, and barely one year old with no daddies...yes, officially crazy. But, we had crazy fun!

We put our kiddos in jammies, sandwiched them into the back of our car, and left Sunday evening for the Happiest Place On Earth.

The first hour or so was pretty rough. We both kept thinking...are we sure about this?? But when we pulled into our hotel at 2 in the morning, we were ready for some fun!



sorry...I just spent too much time catching up on my favorite blogs...and checking out Mindy Gledhill's Christmas album...you'll have to wait for the play-by-play of our trip until tomorrow. I HAVE to get to bed.

At The Park

Brian took Avery to the park today. Looks like she had a good time. They go to the park almost every day, but now Brian has a fancy new phone to take pictures. It's kinda pathetic that our new phones have cameras with the same megapixels as the camera I own. Oh well.

Hangin' with the Boys

Avery spent the day today hanging with all her homies. We went and saw our little buddy's new house and he let her make a masterpiece and then thought about taking her for a spin in his sweet ride. He's getting so cute, but Avery's not really a fan of playing with him. She much prefers doing her own thing.




After a nice little walk this afternoon, we enjoyed the gorgeous weather and blew bubbles on the lawn with our fun neighbors. Avery blew bubbles all by herself! Although, the ratio of blown bubbles versus eaten bubbles is yet to be determined.

Trooper

Man this girl is such a trooper. She's had quite the busy day and caught just a couple cat naps through it all. Top that off with a little Grandpa time and a looong walk and this is what happens...

Poor thing slept through her diaper change...that NEVER happens. I felt so bad for her I just grabbed some pj bottoms and quickly got her in bed. Not without taking a picture first though. :)

Food.

I just realized I've posted mostly food related blogs this last little while. So, sorry that tonight's another one. That's a big part of her life. Especially now that she wants to do it all herself. She pitched a fit at the enchiladas I made because they were too messy for her to eat solo. (good! more for me! yes, a mel's recipe) She is getting pretty good at using a fork, but she gets frustrated and then it becomes a food sling shot. I'm not such a fan when we're eating at the table and not in the kitchen.

Long story short, I gave her some noodles to slurp to her heart's content. And she did just that. I wish I would have filmed a little because it was so cute. She's quite the slurper.

Avery was hanging out with Grandpa tonight while he was washing some fruit from his tree...

She thought it was an apple and dug right in.

Turns out it was a pomegranate.

Lucky 13

Avery turned a lucky 13 months old today. We celebrated by boxing up all her baby paraphernalia and putting it in the garage. Man, that girl has a lot of stuff. Our little house was being taken over by baby junk! It's nice to have it stowed away in the garage now. She had some fun trying out all her old gadgets before we put them away for a loooong while.



She was a little upset she couldn't get herself out. Sorry girl!

Progress

We're making progress around here at our local Target. Avery only lasts about 5 minutes in the seat part of the cart these days before she turns herself around and stands up. Yes, I buckle her. And yes I cinch that belt so tight her belly hangs out and she STILL manages to shimmy out. So, I put her in the big part of the cart where she dances and stands and falls and generally makes a scene.

Today, we finally got her to sit patiently on her bum for a little while and yes, we praised her like a couple of lunatics. The secret: hands and mouth constantly full of pretzels.
